Dr.Betotte TC vs Tempo
Hello again. This app review is going to be about the metronomes DrBetotteTC(10$) and Tempo (1$).
I am going to take Tempo first.
Tempo is a very good metronome if you want the speed fast. I has got 1/4 to 13/4 and 3/8 6/8 /9/8 and 12/8 types of rythms (idk what it’s called in english). And you can have 4th, 8th, 8th triplets, 8th swing and 16th notes. You can tap the tempo, which is good, but you have to tap 6-7 times before you get the precise speed. You can also choose what beat which should be louder. You got landscape and portrait mode and a setlist. If you want to save a tempo, then you can save it by pressing a plus sing near the play button. And to see the setlist, you tap the two arrows to the left of where it stands tempo. And to get back, press the arrows on the other side. Reference tones can be found when you press the info button and you also got the settings there. And on the other side of that, it’s a sort of paper. Press that and you will get a easier view of the setlist, and you can delete the tempos there.
If this was confusing, just comment if you want me to make a video of this.
Now to the Dr.Betotte TC.
It’s the most advanced metronome i’ve ever seen. You can change how many beats there are going to be, and you can choose what beats there should be. You can also choose how much swing it’s going to be on both 8th and 16th notes. You can also change if it’s going to be 4th, 8th or 12th notes that is going to be played. You can choose 4th, 8th after beats, 16th after 8th beats, and 8th triplets and 16th triplets (you can change the triplets in a tap called beat). If you put 4th and 8th after beat on, then you get 8th notes and then you can turn the 8th note swing on to get swing. If you have 4th, 8th after beat and 16th after 8th beats, then you get 16th notes, and turn the 16th note swing on and you got a swing rythm. You can also make the bpm go upwards in the settings tab. You can choose how much the bpm will increase after how many intervals. You can also change the lowest tempo and the highest tempo. In the same tab you got a timer. If you want to have some other sounds, you can change the sound in the tab sound. This one also got a setlist, and you can save the tempos by pressing Save in the bottom right corner. You can also tap the tempo and make the tempo a half-time feel.
Now some comparing.
Tempo got 20 to 250 bpm and Dr.Betotte TC got 10 to 310 BPM and if you add the half time feel, you can get 620 bpm.
Tempo is easy to learn when you first use it, but Dr.Betotte TC is very confusing the first 3 days.
Both got setlists and possibility to change sound and both got tap the speed.
Tempo can be landscape which Dr.Betotte TC can’t.
Dr.Betotte TC got many different rythms, Tempo only got 6.
Dr.Betotte TC can change how much swing and volume on the different rythms. Tempo can’t.
So if you just want a good metronome that is easy to pick and choose tempo. Choose tempo. But if you want a very good metronome, choose Dr.Betotte TC, but i don’t like it very much. It got tiny buttons, and it looks like a mess.
Tempo 8.5/10 Easy to use and is cheap
Dr.Betotte TC 7/10 Expensive and is hard to use, but got many features.
I will make a video of this tomorrow maybe.
