PSP Version of GTA: Chinatown Wars

Having released GTA: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS with great success, Rockstar Games has finally decided to release the game to iPhone. A problem with the DS (256×192 screen resolution) version of the game were the graphics, which, to quote reviewers, were “terrible”. However the iPhone (and iPod touch) have much higher screen resolutions than the DS, so we’re all expecting an improvement on the graphics. So we’re expecting a great game.

The image shown here is a screenshot from the PSP version of the game, which is scheduled for release on October 20th. As you can see, the graphics look very nice on the PSP’s 480×272 screen resolution. The iPhone’s screen resolution is very similar to that, 480×320, so hopefully we can expect graphics that are just as good.

Unfortunately, we only have a date for the PSP release. The only guide we have for the date of the iPhone release is “fall”. Rockstar have said nothing more.

So we wait.
